Siemens Scholars Visit Bronx Sixth Graders
Tuesday, February 19, 2008
Sixth graders at the Urban Assembly School for Applied Math and Science in the Bronx experienced a morning of hands-on science when the Siemens Foundation visited the school for a Siemens Science Day.

Siemens Scholars Janelle Schlossberger and Amanda Marinoff (Siemens Competition, 2007-08) joined the Siemens employees last Friday, 2/15, and spoke to the students about their passion for math and science.
Created in 2005, the Siemens Science Day program aims to inspire elementary school students to consider pursuing math and science studies in their future. Siemens employees and Siemens scholars are invited to visit local fourth, fifth, and sixth grades and lead the students in interactive activities. These activities have been developed by Scholastic, Inc.

Students at the Urban Assembly Siemens Science Day participated in the “From Rain to Drain” activity, which teaches students about the water cycle and water filtration.
