Siemens Competition Winners Meet with First Lady Laura Bush
Wednesday, February 06, 2008
Today the White House welcomed the National Winners of the 2007-08 Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology. Individual winner Isha Jain, a senior at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and team winners Janelle Schlossberger and Amanda Marinoff, seniors at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School in Plainview, New York, met First Lady Laura Bush and Director of Science and Technology Policy Dr. John Marburger.
The First Lady talked glowingly about the Siemens Scholars and graciously hosted the young ladies, their families, and Siemens Foundation executives. Dr John Marburger, a recipient of the 1957 Westinghouse award, shared the impact the award had on his life - his compelling story made the day even more memorable. Following the meeting, Isha Jain met with Senator Robert Casey, and Janelle and Amanda visited Senator Clinton's office.
